Postdoc fellowships in Korea open for Filipino scientists

PCARRD is inviting Filipino scientists involved in the agricultural sciences, technology demonstration and application, and crop and livestock biotechnology to conduct postdoctoral research in South Korea.

The postdoctoral fellowship program is the latest addition to the work plan of scientific and technical cooperation between PCARRD and the Rural Development Administration (RDA) of South Korea.

Initially for 2006, PCARRD will endorse five scientists to be sent to RDA. The grantees will conduct their research work in any of RDA’s research institutions for 10–12 months, which can be extended for a maximum of two years.

PCARRD, which manages the program, has sent out details of the program to the National Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Network. Screening and evaluation are ongoing.

Applicants must hold doctoral degrees and must have served their agencies for at least three years after conferment of the said degrees. They must be 40 years old and below, with a good command of the English language, and a clean bill of health. (Maria Estela H. Facundo, S&T Media Service)
