A
multistakeholder meeting was held on 8 February to set up the information
network for three forestry-related clusters––Philippine
ecotourism and protected areas, watershed, and nonwood forest products.
The Web-based
network, to be linked in the PCARRD homepage, will consolidate and
feature research and development activities, technologies, policies,
publications, and a directory of experts and stakeholders on these
clusters. It will also provide information on market, industry,
and trends.
Represented in this PCARRD-led forum were the Chamber of Herbal
Industries of the Philippines, Miriam–PEACE, National Power
Corporation, Forest Management Bureau, Protected Areas and Wildlife
Bureau, Philippine Council for Health Research and Development,
and Forest Products Research and Development Institute.
