The proposed
information network intends to cater to all types of users, but
particularly responding to filling in the data gaps in watershed
management needed by local government units.
As the focal
point to promote the state of the art on watershed activities, the
InfoNet will also facilitate sourcing, building up, delivering,
and exchanging of watershed information.
The meeting
was held at PCARRD, attended by officials from the following government
institutions: University of the Philippines Los Baños-College
of Forestry and Natural Resources; Department of Agriculture-Bureau
of Soil and Water Management; National Economic and Development
Authority; as well as the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau,
Forest Management Bureau, and National Mapping and Resource Information
Authority of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
The watershed
InfoNet is expected to be soft-launched during the National Science
