Using
the mobile IT bus of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST),
the caravan will roam the country to demonstrate communication through
the Internet, useful agricultural Websites, e-commerce, and SMS
or texting services.
Last
February, PCARRD-DOST, the Development Academy of the Philippines
(DAP), and the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) developed
a roadmap of major rice areas to be visited by the caravan.
The
caravan is part of the K-AgriNet Program, a collaboration of the
Department of Land Reform (DLR), Department of Agriculture-PhilRice,
DAP, and PCARRD-DOST.
The
program aims to empower small and medium entrepreneurs, farmers,
