contains information related to market, technologies, research and
development status, directory of agricultural machinery manufacturers,
policies affecting agricultural mechanization, publications, news,
and other announcements.
Engr. Romeo
P. Santiago of the Agricultural Resources Management Research Division
of PCARRD presented the Website to about 130 convention participants.
Highlighting
the convention was the awarding of best papers with significant
research results.
The
first placer under the farm power and machinery category was the
study “Development of a multi-stranded yarning machine for
abaca fiber, “ presented by Engr. Feliciano. G. Sinon of the
Leyte State University.
In the irrigation and water management category, the study “Computer
simulation model for improving water use and productivity in small
irrigation schemes,” won first place. Engr. John F. Malamug
of the Benguet State University presented the paper.
Adjudged first place in the structures and environment category
was the project “Commercialization of the improved biomass
cookstoves in the Philippines,” presented by Dr. Carlos M.
Pascual of the Mariano Marcos State University.
These studies and the other projects presented will be included
in the AGMachIN Website.
With the Website, PCARRD aims to promote the importance of agricultural
engineering in assuring the efficiency, sustainability, and reliability
