The PHILSAN FEED REFERENCE STANDARDS published in 1990 provides basic information needed in feed quality control and formulation of feeds for livestock and poultry. These information are based on the various scientific data and experiences of respected Filipino animal nutritionists. Thus, instead of constantly referring to foreign data, Philippine animal nutritionists are now given a guide in their feed formulation which is practical and applicable under various conditions.

The Second Edition of the PHILSAN FEED REFERENCE STANDARDS provides additional information about the nutritional requirements not only of poultry and swine but also for fish and ruminants. These are dealt with in two new chapters. The chapter on poultry nutrition now includes the nutritional requirements for ducks. 

The listings of feed ingredients and nutritional products include those that are recently introduced in the market and are used by the animal industry at present.
This book is written to provide updated information useful to animal nutritionists in the performance of their role in the Philippine animal industry.
