![]() FEED REFERENCE STANDARDS |
FOREWORD The Philippine Society of Animal Nutritionists (PHILSAN) is an association of animal nutritionists practicing in the country and as such is primarily concerned with poultry and livestock feeding and production. In 1990, the association came up with the first publication of PHILSAN Feed Reference Standards, which contained comprehensive information on the nutritional requirements of different farm animals; nutrient compositions of common feeds and feedstuffs, techniques in feed formulation, and nutritional product information. This reference standard serves as a guide for all those concerned with animal feeding and production in the country. Since the initial publication of the reference book, there has been numerous advances and changes in the field of animal nutrition and feed technology and the Association felt the need to update or revise the book. This volume is the first revision of the PHILSAN Feed Reference Standards. We hope that the additional information contained in this book will benefit all those involved in the Philippine poultry, livestock, aquaculture, feedmilling and related industries. PHILSAN acknowledges the contributions made by the members of the association in updating the information needed in certain chapters of this book. Likewise, PHILSAN recognizes the generous support extended by the donor members, drug companies, feedmillers and all those who in one way or another contributed to the successful publication of this book.
