PCARRD receives Aduyon Award

La Trinidad, Benguet - In recognition of PCARRD's long-standing collaboration with the Benguet State University (BSU), the Council received the Aduyon (partnership) Award during the awarding ceremony of the university's 90th foundation anniversary held on June 29.

The ceremony took place at BSU's gymnasium in this town, touted as the strawberry capital of the Philippines.

PCARRD's partnership with BSU dates back to 1978, when the Council first implemented its consortium concept. The Highland Research Center or HARC, now known as the Highland Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium (HARRDEC), was one of the eight original consortia managed by PCARRD.

BSU (then called the Mountain State Agricultural College or MSAC.) has been HARRDEC's base agency since then.

Its consortium director is BSU's Vice President for Research and Extension, Dr. Sonwright B. Maddul.

PCARRD participated in the exhibit and trade fair, which were part of the university’s week-long celebration.

Amidst the festivities, the Council also conducted its Techno Gabay K-AgriNet e-Consortia and e-Farm training at BSU's Information and Communication Technology Hall. (Butch S. Pagcaliwagan, S&T Media Service)
