The
Philippine-European Union Development Cooperation and the Department
of Agriculture commended the Banaybanay Techno Pinoy Center in Davao
Oriental for its valuable contribution to the successful implementation
of the Upland Development Programme (UDP) in Southern Mindanao.
The
Center provided experts for the Diversified Farming System Program,
conducted field tours, and assisted in project monitoring and evaluation
including the documentation of UDP programs. It also led in the
packaging of Barangay Development Plans for various UDP barangay
beneficiaries.
Phil-EU
Development Cooperation and UDP also recognized the Center’s
initiative on soliciting planting materials from Southern Mindanao
Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium (SMARRDEC)
for farmer cooperators in Banaybanay.
UDP
receives full support from SMARRDEC and from the Local Government
Unit (LGU) led by Mayor Pedro Mejos.
UDP
National Co-Director, Mr. Dashiel Indelible and Ms. Myrna Rosillo,
also of UDP expressed appreciation to the Center’s contributions.
“I
personally witnessed the Techno Pinoy Center’s efforts in
the successive monitoring we have undertaken, we really appreciate
such altruism,” says Rosillo.
UDP
also recognized the contribution of Mr. Joseph Pedernilla, Information
Service Specialist of the Techno Pinoy Center during the UDP Exit
Conference held last 29 June.
Banaybanay
Techno Pinoy Center is one of 12 Farmers’ Information and
