Brief History/Profile

Mountain Province State Polytechnic College was converted from Mountain Province Community College by virtue of the passage of R.A. 7182 in January 1992. Congressman Victor S. Dominguez of the lone district of Mountain Province authored this said bill.

The Polytechnic is the only institution of higher learning in the Central Cordillera Region. Its primary service areas are Mt. Province, Northern Benguet, Southern Kalinga, Western Ifugao and the cultural communities of Eastern Ilocos Sur and Southeastern Abra.

As of the moment, there are three campuses of the College namely: College of Arts and Science in Bontoc, College of Engineering and Technology in Tadia, College of Forestry in Mt. Data. A new site for the College of Forestry and Agriculture is being developed in Banao, Bauko. The campus in Banao is the proposed main campus of the College.

Though only in its 5th year of existence, the College hopes to help the province, as well as the region, achieve development as it tries to do its best to contribute its share to the fulfillment of the goals of Philippines 2000.
