Demand
in Furniture and Handicraft Manufacturing Industries
The
biggest share of the demand for bamboo poles is in the furniture
and handicraft sectors. Bamboo (pure or mixed with other materials
like rattan wood etc.) is used to make a wide range of products.
The
furniture and the handicraft industries are the country's major
bamboo export products. The estimation of the demand for raw materials
considers both local and export consumption volumes. Local needs
for bamboo furniture is derived from the country's number of household
using furniture and handicrafts made from bamboo.
