Planter/ Seeder

IRRI Drum Seeder

IRRI Drum Seeder

Description: This low -cost machine was developed for row seeding of pre-germinated paddy on puddled soils. Since mechanical weeding is not possible in broadcast seeded fields, farmers must spend much labor for manual weeding or must apply costly herbicides. This machine seeds paddy in neat rows which can be conveniently weeded with push type mechanical weeders. This machine permits uniform seeding at fairly low seed rates of 500-100 kg/ha and output capacity of about 1 ha/day. Thus savings substantial amount of seeds as compared to traditional broadcasting method.

Features:

  • Simple design
  • Convenient adjustment of seed rates
  • Low power requirement
  • Saves seed

AMDP Transplanter

AMDP Transplanter

Description: The improved mechanical transplanter placed the rice seedlings in rows. It has a seeding mat cut exactly into 20.5 cm wide by 40 cm long. When planting, the handle is pulled up and pushed down. With each downward stroke, the picker gets a number of seedlings out of the mat and direct them into the mud. At the upward stroke, the transplanter is pulled towards the operator. The free wheel is simultaneously actuated to move the chain. The attached seedling tray then, moves horizontally to feed new seedlings into the slot. The seedlings would be picked at the next stroke.

.Features:

  • Transplant seeds in rows
  • High field performance
  • Saves seeds
  • Easy to operate and maintain
