Training Information Kit


The MBRLC believes that experienced people can teach effectively. The center shares only its experiences. The training courses available at the center are as follows:

Farming Systems

Crop Production

  • Fruit Trees Production (durian, rambutan, lanzones, mangosteen, calamansi, etc)

Number of Participants

To give closer supervision to individual trainees and to provide more time for "hands-on" training, only 25-35 participants are allowed in a class or group.

Number of Days per Training

Normally, a course could be completed within 1-2 days. However, the whole training duration is very flexible as it depends upon the needs and interests of the trainees. A general training with five courses maybe completed within five days (Monday to Friday). The trainees themselves design their own curricula and training schedule.

Trainers

The trainers/resource persons are composed of a team of experienced staff members of the MBRLC.

Training Procedures

Generally, the training will be dialogic and experiential. The training will have lectures but emphasis would be on "hands-on" in the fields, barns, and pens.

Training Hours

The training is done from Monday through Friday at 7:30 to 11:00 in the morning and 1:30 to 5:00 in the afternoon. Evenings are reserved for socialization, dialogue, farm planning, and moral and spiritual values.

MBRLC's House Rules

  1. Smoking, drinking of alcoholic beverages, and gambling are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED.

  2. The center is NOT responsible for loss of any articles belonging to the trainees. Contact the office if you have some belongings for safekeeping.

  3. For safety's sake, only flashlights are allowed for extra lighting.

  4. No picking of fruits, flowers, leaves, etc.

  5. No writing or posting of bills on walls, benches, posts, beds, barns, trees, etc.

  6. Throw your garbage and other trashes to the trash cans.

  7. A curfew hour is observed from 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
