Trees
or shrubs with foliage which are palatable to livestock are grown
around a certain grassland area to enclose the grazing animals.
Aside from the trees' role as live fence, they can be managed (e.g.,
regular top pruning to encourage more lateral branching) such that
the enclosed animals can browse on the low-lying branches for fodder
