The GC is PCARRD’s highest policy-making body. It provides the stable link between the national development goals and the science and technology research objectives. The linkage it provides is crucial because it assures the sustained relevance and responsiveness of the national agricultural research system to critical issues and exigencies in the agriculture, forestry, and natural resources sectors. The GC concentrates on bringing novel ideas, identifying focused plans, programs, and policy initiatives, and developing strategies and guidelines for a more efficient and effective research and development system.
