The
Agricultural Ecosystems R and D Program focuses on the
conservation, protection, rehabilitation, and improvement of
natural resources. Its goal is to develop and promote
technologies that conserve agricultural resources in order to
maintain sustainable productivity and ensure the quality,
sustainability, and sufficiency of products for human
consumption.
The
Program aims to: 1) develop technologies that will
enhance the conservation of soil and water resources; 2) promote
the utilization of conservation technologies in order to
minimize environmental risks; and 3) improve efficiency and use
of fertilizer and pesticides.
